Collaborating to Build Effective Communication for Learning: Supporting subject teachers as they develop students’ language and literacy
Held this year at the National Junior College, the 4th WSA-EC Forum 2016 celebrated the work of subject teachers who have examined their practice and explored how students’ language, literacy and communication skills can be developed in Mathematics, Science and Humanities classrooms. The theme of this year’s WSA-EC Forum was ‘Collaborating to Build Effective Communication for Learning: Supporting subject teachers as they develop students’ language and literacy’’. Three invited speakers from Yuying Secondary School, CPDD and AST shared their insights and perspectives on implementing a whole school approach to effective communication for learning. Over a 160 EC Champions from 80 schools attended the Forum, to hear presentations of subject literacy inquiry projects by two primary and two secondary schools.
