THE COMMENTARY PROJECT: AN APPRENTICESHIP IN TALKING AND WRITING ABOUT READING
Watch Professor Sheridan Blau demonstrate how students can learn to discuss and write about reading by taking part in a shared literary community in the classroom.
Synopsis:
This masterclass demonstrates how students at all levels can learn to write and talk productively about their reading by taking on an active participant role in an intellectual and literary community that they help to form in their own classrooms.
The masterclass enacts the creation of a model literary community and exemplifies the critical moves that are required to create a model community where the commentary project is adopted as a regular practice for talking and writing about reading.
